How to Deploy Your Java Application on Systron Hosting

This guide will walk you through uploading and launching your Java application using your Systron control panel.

Step 1: Package Your Application Locally

  • Before uploading, ensure your Java project is built and packaged into a standard web archive format (like a .war file) or an executable archive (like a .jar file).
  • Make sure your application runs fine locally using a supported JDK runtime variant before deploying it to the server.

Step 2: Upload Your Project Files

  • Log in to your Systron hosting client area and access your control panel.
  • Navigate to Websites & Domains and click on File Manager for your domain.
  • Open your application directory (usually your /httpdocs folder or a custom subdirectory you created).
  • Upload your compiled .war or .jar file into this directory.

Step 3: Enable and Map the Java Application Server

  • Return to Websites & Domains.
  • Click on the Java or Application Server management icon.
  • Set your application context path to match your layout requirements. If it is your primary site, map it directly to the root context (/).
  • Select the appropriate target archive file you uploaded in Step 2.
  • Choose your preferred Java / JDK Version from the available dropdown menu.
  • Click Enable to let the application server unpack and start running your Java backend.

Step 4: Restart and Test Your Application

  • Once initialized, open a new browser tab and navigate to your website domain to confirm the application loads successfully.
  • If you ever update your code and replace the archive file, return to the Java application dashboard and click the Restart Application button to apply your updates.
